HealthLock safeguards against medical fraud and privacy breaches, streamlines insurance claims management, and supports members in challenging inaccuracies and excessive charges. To perform these services, HealthLock may need to access certain Personal Health Information (PHI) from your healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other entities subject to HIPAA regulations. Many of these entities require patients/members to authorize access to their medical information by signing HIPAA authorizations.
NOTE: HIPAA authorizations are only required when a member opens a Case. How to Sign HIPAA Authorizations
When opening a Case for a "Flagged" medical claim, you will be prompted to sign your HIPAA authorizations directly in your HealthLock member portal. Here’s how:
Log in to your HealthLock member portal.
A popup will appear prompting you to sign authorizations, labeled SIGN NOW. If you don’t see the popup, navigate manually:
Select Settings, then choose Members.
Click Sign Authorizations to begin the process.
You may also click the “Click to sign here” link in the top banner message if it appears.
Review the names and dates of birth carefully before signing to ensure everything is accurate.
Once completed, your HIPAA authorizations will be provided to your healthcare providers and insurance companies as needed.
