How to use the "LOWER MY BILL" feature.

Modified on Thu, 13 Nov, 2025 at 10:29 AM

The “LOWER MY BILL” feature allows HealthLock members to request help reviewing and negotiating flagged medical claims for potential savings.

Steps to Use the "LOWER MY BILL" Feature

  1. Watch for Notifications
You’ll receive an email or text message when a claim is flagged for potential errors, overbilling, or fraud. Log in to your HealthLock Member Portal to review it.

  2. View Flagged Claims
From your Dashboard, scroll to the Overview section to view "Recent Claims" or select “Claims” from the left navigation panel to see your full list of claims.

  3. Submit a Review Request
Click “LOWER MY BILL” on the flagged claim and, if prompted, accept the shared savings agreement (for example, 20%).

  4. Case Review and Resolution
Your case will be assigned to a Personal Health Champion (PHC), who will investigate the claim and work directly with your provider and/or insurance carrier to resolve any issues.

    • If savings are found due to overbilling or errors: You’ll receive the refund or reduction, and the shared savings fee (e.g., 20%) will apply depending on your plan.

    • If savings are found due to fraud: You will not be charged a fee.

IMPORTANT: If you haven’t already done so, please sign your Carrier and Provider HIPAA Authorization Forms. This allows HealthLock to communicate with your providers and insurance companies on your behalf.
