Do you contact my doctor?

Modified on Wed, 15 May at 4:55 PM

Your auditor may need to contact your doctor's office to gather information and better understand why a claim was billed in a certain manner. Most of the time, the auditor will speak with the Billing Office at the doctor's office. Also, the signed HIPAA Authorization Form gives the auditors permission to access your information.

If for any reason you do not want a claim investigated, simply do not use the "LOWER MY BILL" feature which is how an investigation is triggered.
