Yes. Your auditor will likely need to contact your insurance carrier to gather information and better understand why a claim was overcharged or denied. This can only occur after you have signed a HIPAA Authorization Form through your member portal which gives the auditors permission to access your information. 


If for any reason you do not want a claim investigated, simply do not use the "LOWER MY BILL" feature which is how an investigation is triggered.
