How does HealthLock detect and handle overcharges?

Modified on Mon, 10 Nov at 1:11 PM

HealthLock uses advanced, analytics-driven technology to automatically flag claims that may have been overcharged or billed incorrectly. This process helps identify potential errors before they result in unnecessary costs.

Once you become a member, you can select “LOWER MY BILL” on any flagged claim to open a Case. After you’ve signed your HIPAA release forms, our auditors will begin reviewing the flagged claim. They carefully examine each one for potential overcharges and will contact your provider and/or insurance carrier to correct any billing discrepancies.

When a provider acknowledges and amends an error, your auditor will notify you with the details of the correction. If a refund is owed, you’ll receive a status update in your member portal, and the refund will be sent directly to you by the provider.
