Purpose
The purpose of this article is to guide members in enabling Two-Step Verification on their Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) account. This security setting is required in order to connect your insurance account to HealthLock. During the connection process, BCBSIL will generate a one-time verification code that you will need to provide to HealthLock to complete the setup successfully.
Steps to Verify Two-Step Verification is Turned ON
1. Go to bcbsil.com and click the 'Log In' button, then select Member.
2. On the Secure Member Log In screen, enter your BCBSIL Username and Password, then select the 'Log In' button.
3. If Two-Step Verification is enabled, you should be asked to verify your account with a code. This means that two-step verification is ON.
4. If you are not prompted to 'Verify your account', go to Account Settings. This may involve clicking on your initials or a similar icon in the corner of the page.
5. Locate security options often listed as "Security," "Advanced Security," or "Multi-Factor Authentication".
6. Choose the option to enable two-factor authentication. You can typically select to have a one-time passcode sent to your registered mobile phone or email address.
7. If you haven't already, update your contact information and ensure your mobile phone number and email address are correct in your profile to ensure you receive the verification codes.
8. Save your new security settings. The next time you log in, you will be prompted to enter the code sent to your email or phone.
You can now return to your HealthLock member portal and continue the connection process.
