Purpose
This article provides step-by-step instructions for Blue Shield of California members to create a secure Blue Shield of California online account. With an online account, BS of CA members can access plan information, view claims, manage benefits, and find in-network providers.
Steps to Create an Online Account
1. Go to blueshieldca.com and click the 'Log In/Register' in the upper right corner of the page.

2. Click the 'Get started' button on the next page and follow the onscreen prompts.

NOTE: You will need your Member ID (especially for Blue Shield Medicare members) or Social security number (SSN).
You can find your Member ID # on your Blue Shield insurance card.

3. Create a Username and Password. Choose a secure username and a strong password. Follow the website guidelines for password requirements (e.g., minimum characters, symbols, etc.).
