Why are the claim amounts on my HealthLock portal different from what I see on my insurance carrier portal?

Modified on Tue, 17 Jun at 3:13 PM

In some cases, the amounts displayed on your insurance carrier’s portal may not reflect the actual billed amount submitted by your provider. For example, some carriers may show an "Average Retail Price" or a "Discounted Price," which are estimates or reference rates—not the true billed amount.

At HealthLock, we rely on the actual transaction data provided through our secure connection with your insurance carrier. This includes the billed amount, allowed amount, and any adjustments or payments. These are the details we use during our audits to identify issues such as overbilling, duplicate charges, or claim denials that may be eligible for appeal.

In short, it’s simply a matter of how each platform presents the information. We’re always here to help interpret these kinds of differences.
