What is the 20% shared savings fee?

Modified on Tue, 11 Nov at 1:49 PM

Some HealthLock members are enrolled in a shared savings plan. For members with this type of plan, a shared savings fee applies only when we successfully help you save money. The exact fee—such as 20% of the total savings—is plan specific and outlined in your HealthLock agreement.

Example: If your plan includes a 20% shared savings fee and we save you $100, our fee would be $20 for the time and effort spent working with your providers and insurance carrier to secure those savings.

If a reduction or refund is confirmed at the end of the investigation, your refund will come directly from your provider or insurance carrier, or you’ll see a lower balance on your provider’s bill. HealthLock will then charge the payment method on file for your plan’s shared savings fee once the savings are verified. This may occur before your refund or billing adjustment is received.

If we can’t save you money or reduce what you owe, you don’t pay the shared savings fee.

With over a decade of experience, HealthLock’s auditing and negotiation team knows how to navigate the complex healthcare system to help members save money, time, and stress.
